Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

The essential point first: Livona processes all of your health and fitness data exclusively on your iPhone. There is no Livona server, no accounts, no transfer of your health data to us or third parties, no trackers and no advertising.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Jonas Janzen
Email: support@livona.app

2. Principle: on-device processing

Livona is designed as a pure on-device app. All analyses — Momentum, Recovery, Longevity, biological age and functional tests — are computed directly on your device. Your health data never leaves your iPhone.

3. Access to Apple Health (HealthKit)

With your explicit consent, Livona reads values from Apple Health (HealthKit) — and strictly read-only: the app never writes data back to Apple Health. It reads, among others:

You control which data types are shared at any time in iOS Settings under "Privacy & Security → Health → Livona". This data is read and processed solely on the device. In line with Apple's policies, Apple Health data is not used for advertising and not shared with third parties.

4. Data stored on the device

Calculated values, histories and settings are stored locally within the app or your iPhone's protected app storage (Apple SwiftData). If you have enabled iCloud device backups, this data may be included in your encrypted device backup with Apple — this remains under your control via iOS Settings.

5. Crash diagnostics and notifications

For app stability, Livona uses Apple's built-in MetricKit. Any crash and hang reports are evaluated on the device; only event names and error codes are logged — no health values and no personal data. No third-party SDK is used, and no data is sent to us. Whether anonymous diagnostics are shared with developers is controlled system-wide in iOS Settings under "Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements".

Reminders appear as local notifications generated directly on the device — with no push server and no device token.

6. Purchase via the App Store

The purchase of Livona (one-time purchase) is handled through the Apple App Store. Payment and purchase data is processed exclusively by Apple; we receive no personal payment data from Apple. Apple's privacy terms apply.

7. Support communication

If you contact us at support@livona.app, we process the information you provide (e.g. your email address and the content of your message) in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR. This data is deleted once it is no longer required, at the latest six months after your request has been resolved.

8. Hosting of this website and fonts

This website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When accessed, technically necessary server log files (e.g. IP address, time, requested resource) may be processed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure, stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO. For more information, see STRATO's privacy policy at strato.de/datenschutz.

The site loads the "Newsreader" font via Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com); this transfers your IP address to Google. To avoid this, the font can be self-hosted.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Since Livona does not transmit your health data to us, these rights mainly concern support communication. You can contact us at any time at support@livona.app.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany, ldi.nrw.de.

10. Not a medical device

Livona is not a medical device and does not provide a diagnosis. The app is for information and general wellbeing and does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this privacy policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
